Community Asset Building and Development Action (CABDA) was delighted to host the Water1st team for a three-day quarterly monitoring visit to assess the progress of the Emukoye Water Scheme Project.

The visit provided an opportunity to review project milestones while strengthening technical capacity. CABDA staff received hands-on training on the use of the HACH DR300 Chlorine Test Kit to enhance water quality monitoring. The team also visited households to inspect installed Safi Toilets and observe how families are using the sanitation facilities to improve hygiene and sanitation.

To gain a broader understanding of the project’s impact, the team toured the water source, main storage tank and the electricity installation that powers the scheme. They also engaged with two Saving and Internal Lending Community (SILC) groups in Eshirumba Village, learning how members save together and access affordable loans to meet household needs including paying their water bills. The team later participated in  casting and installation of sanitation rings, digging trenches for new water pipelines and connecting additional households to piped water.Together, we are building healthier communities through improved access to clean water, sanitation, and community-driven solutions.
