TB Project

Community Asset Building and Development Action (CABDA) has been working in fight against TB in Kakamega County since 2016 to date. The implementation of this project covers all 12 sub counties in the County targeting 144 health facilities in TB treatment and diagnostic sites, while targeting families.
The project aims at ensuring provision of quality care and preventive services for all people within families in Kakamega County with tuberculosis and contribute to attaining universal health coverage through comprehensive TB/HIV prevention, treatment and care for all people. Its objectives include; sustain the gains in the context of a newly devolved health system, intensify efforts to find ‘missing” cases, reduce transmission of TB, prevent active disease and morbidity and enhance the quality of care for chronic lung diseases. CABDA works very closely with the Ministry of Health, civil society organizations and other key partners to deliver health services.
The interventions under this project are aimed at reducing the burden of lung disease and render Kenya free of Tuberculosis and Leprosy. The organization is reaching out to people with TB at household level through community TB interventions contributing to the national goal of fighting TB. CABDA is also working closely with other stakeholders such as the government, line ministries and partners to lobby, advocate and building capacity of other Civil Society Organizations in Kakamega County.
